Firdous was a promising and unforgettable actress of Punjabi films who passed away on December 16, 2020.

Firdous was introduced by director Nakhshab, an actress with tall, fat and intoxicated eyes and charming features who appeared in an extra role in the film Fanoos (1963). The film Malang (1964) was his first film as a heroine in which the popular actor of the time Allauddin was a hero. He did not have to wait long for success. Made her a superstar and by 1973 she had become a leading actress in Punjabi films. What a strange coincidence that Madam Noor Jahan also had a hand in the fall of Firdous because Madam had refused to give playback for Firdous due to her alleged relationship with Ijaz. The songs filmed on him played a major role in the success of a Punjabi film and its actresses and it was not possible to challenge Madam Noorjahan's monopoly in Punjabi film singing.

Firdous's memorable films include Malangi (1965), Chacha Ji, Akbara, Mirza Jutt (1967), Roti, Pagri Sanbhal Jata, Bao Ji, Panj Darya (1968), Chen Veer, Ishq Na Pachhe Zaat, Sheeran De Patar Sher, Gentleman (1969), Sajjan Door Diya, Maa Patar, Heer Ranjha, Dunya Matlab Di (1970), Anso, Yar Badshah, Ishq Deewana (1971), Khon Pasina, Zildar, Heera Moti, Patar Da Pyar (1972), Zadi, Banarasi Thug (1973) and Maa Da Lal (1974). Firdous's last film as a heroine was Man Jawani Da (1976). Shortly afterwards, she appeared in Character Role in Sohni Dharti (1979) and played a secondary role in two dozen films.
Firdous's first film with Masood Rana was Jhanjhar (1965) in which a bhangra song "Kali Dang Teri Sone De Rang Vargi ..." was sung. There was a special way of writing the names of the actors on the titles, advertisements, billboards, posters, calendars, booklets and stickers, etc., in which the names of the heroines and heroes of the film were written first. Then the names of the side heroines and heroes were written. The names of comedians and supporting actors were then written.
